1889 V Nickel & Lowest Mintage Mercury Dime from the 1940's

Did 2 very long hunts today & yesterday with friend from youtube that happened to be in my area (He's from Michigan) I don't have pictures of his finds (they're in my YT videos) but he found a 1920 merc in VF and a 1945 merc today.

My first day I found the 1940-D merc, which was needed for my dug date collection. That sure has been a stickler to find! And I'll be darn I found another clad Kennedy.

Found 9 wheats total between the 2 days, oldest being a 1925.

Got an 1889 V nickel today, my first of the year, and I only dug 1 all of last year. LOL. The reverse is toast. The wart on the last digit made it look like an 1885 at first. I about had a heart attack But I can still dream of the day I do find an 1885 or 1886.

And also did get a 1952 Jefferson nickel at the V nickel spot. It was a small park by an old, tiny brick school. (Most of the high tones were picked out) My buddy found a 1954 nickel there.

Congrats on filling a slot in your collection. V nickels rarely hold up around here. I've found an '86 but never an '85. Wish they were made of silver instead of copper/nickel

and well. I have silver V nickels. Except they're only 1 gram of silver and not quite real.

Great score on the merc and V My rarest V nickel is the 1885, I've got it stashed in a small box with a few small gold pieces in with it, I just had to figure out what I did with it so when I found it I decided to take a pic of it.

on filling that missing merc hole in your dug collection. As stated earlier V's rarely hold up here. Well you tied last years V's, hope you can get a couple more. Two years ago I got 3 in one hole.
