Beautiful Day, Thawed Ground = Indian Head, Mercs, Wheats

Yesterday was a perfect day for metal detecting. Bright sunshine, temps in the upper 50s, birds singing and very little wind. A welcome sight after the brutal winter we've had!
The ground was 100% thawed, it was like digging through butter.

I tried two new sites but they were both pretty much a bust, although I did find an Indian Head at the first one. So, I ended up back at a park that I had hunted twice before a couple of years ago. At this park I found 7 wheat cents and 2 Mercury Dimes. It was good to finally get some silver this year.

Here are all of the coins I found:

    And here are the keepers:

Here are the relics: part of an old pocket watch, metal buttons, rivet, big hunk of lead, and a buckle. The ceramic button was in the same hole with one of the metal buttons.

    And the junk:

Thanks for looking and happy hunting!

Great start to the year Tony and I'm envious you were finally able to get out. Gotta wait at least a few more weeks up here with a deep pack still on the ground. What were the range in years on your wheats?
