Another hunt with the E-trac netted 1924 Buffalo

Got out again today to hit a a couple parks and an old church with my son. Once again I never got to touch the new E-trac.!!

I dug one Wheat cent, a token of some sort and 1.59 in clad. ( and a boat load of junk ) with the ATP

Alec dug a 1924 Buffalo Nickle and 3 Wheats. with the E-Trac

While we were at a park in a small town, we started talking to a local cop. He told us about some woods at the edge of town that used to have several homes there in the 1890s. As he was giving me directions, he could see the confusion on my face.
WE GOT A POLICE ESCORT TO A NEW HUNTING SPOT. How cool is that !!

Sorry about the picture quality. A new camera is on my "To Get List"
I wetted down the nickle to bring out the detail

Sound like a fun hunt. As long as I'm finding wheats I always feel like I could dig a silver. It looks like your Garrett at least in your hands can hang with the etrac. I see you've gone over to the dark side of the force and bought a minelab. ;-) I wouldn't mind seeing a cleaned up pic of the token.

Congrats on the 1924 Buffalo Nickel, Don! They are a neat coin to find, especially when they have a legible date.

Nothing like getting a police escort to a detecting site!

Better to get a police escort to a site than from a site. Nice looking Buffalo.....

Did someone call the cop there in the first place? Or just being a small town he happened to drive by and talk to you? I agree with AlOld. lol. Nice find tho. Maybe the buffalo and token worth cleaning. Pennies are fine as is.

No one called on us. He saw us getting our machines out and stopped to see what we were doing. He was very cool and suggested a few other sites as well.
