    item found in park

I dug this up about 3.5 to 4 inches deep between two baseball fields adjacent to a sidewalk. It ID'd as a quarter on my DFX using a 6x10 coil. The VDI number was 85-86 and the tone ID was loud and hi. It appears to be silver plated copper on the photos. When I first dug it I thought a small silver bar. It does have a small hole on one end and seems to be mounted on another piece of metal. Appreciate any help.

Is that a cigarette lighter? Wasn't there a threaded screw in the bottom for some extra flints or a refill reservoir or something?

I'd agree with Dan, maybe a vintage silver plated match case. Given the length of the thing is barely 2" long it seems that may be too small for cigs. I can't tell from your pics but it looks as if from the bottom image the top may slide back revealing a small compartment inside. If you do a quick online image search you can find very similar items. That's may best guess.

Check to see if there are any repetitive grooves on the case somewhere. That is where the match would be struck to light it.
