    Silent field revisited

Rain yesterday was supposed to stop by 9am. It was still misting at noon so Mike and I were detecting in a muddy mess! We wanted to try that field we went to a few weeks ago that I had the silent hunt with no signals after digging a few buttons and musket ball the previous day.

I only got 2 coins yesterday but they're old so we now know this field holds some goodies. The fertilizer took its toll on these 2. I can't get the dates off of either yet, but I believe picture 1 and 2 is a Hibernia, harp on left 1722. The last picture is an early Large cent facing left,1793-1807.

We are heading out now to an early 20th century private home to look for some silver. Have a great day everyone!

Congrats on two old coppers. The Draped Bust might be a 1798 if that is an 8 that I think is the last digit. Also the Hibernia may be a George II Hibernia Irish half penny. Here is a picture of what that one may be. Congrats on both!

You should be able to make out a date on the Hibernia. You don't have to worry about the left side it will always say 17 but the right side may give up the last two numbers for you to have a complete date. Just keep tilting the coin in all directions and in different light conditions and you may see the digits clearly.
