It looks like one of those luggage tags to me. I would think if it was military it would have the HQ unit listed too. i.e. 7th Infantry, F. Co.

Yeah. F company was the 425th infantry, if referring to military. The shape of the hole looks like all the other luggage tags. If it was a tag for Ford, like a keychain tag, the company had used the Ford logo even in the 1910's, not F. Co. (NYSE: F)
