    Thanks Del, I definitely got lucky! I'm curious about the 1806 copper though. Since we were minting our own coins by 1806 why would we still be using British coins?

    Dave , we were using foreign currency of all kinds up until 1857 when the government made it illegal to do so. It really didn't matter who was on it as lond as it was good copper or silver it was accepted .

    I have not seen that much silver in one hunt in ...... forever When you are through with the second half of that yard, return to the first half and dig any non ferrous target.... You may be pleasantly surprised at what still lurks there. Fantastic hunt Dave!
