Welcome to the forum, Woody. A couple of neat finds there! I'd like to find the story on the skull and crossbones.

Welcome to the forum and I hope you are feeling better. The first pin looks like a fraternity pin (Alpha-Epsilon-Pi) and the second one looks like a patriotic pin that used to have enameling in it (Cloisonné type) Usually red, white and blue enameling. Congrats on the SLQ and Barber dimes too!

have not cleaned either one anymore yet have not felt up to it yet.the fraternity pin is alpha epsilon pi but have not seen any with skull and crossbones their symbol "mascot"whatever you call it is a Judas Lion.someone suggested a sweetheart pin but why would you give a skull and crossbones to your sweetie?i know this is an older piece as i started hitting this spot about 2 years ago when the building was torn down.recently they started replacing the sidewalks and moved some dirt its like hunting it all over again.first cleaned out all the high stones then slowing down and digging each and every signal including suspender buckles, old hawk brand buttons, square nails and old glass.sorry about the rambling guess the pain pills are kicking.
