    its been great reading i've been MDing for about 5 years now , and love it … started out with a MXT, sold it for a V3i, and got a excalibur for water nice being in san diego u can hunt all year long… i work construction and make hand forged knives on the side.. found about 10 rings this year tons of clad but …. still looking for gold in the mt. of ramona ca. some day …. LOL i have a ctx3030 but just can't get used to it ….. so i'm selling it i just like the v3i better the vdi's i think ….. well off to work ….

    Welcome to the forum! Too bad about the CTX its a great machine, but I understand what your saying. I couldn't get use to the Whites (TDI) after using Minelab for so long.

    Another welcome from CT! My old man did time on the USS Scamp in the 60's, so SD is technically my hometown.

    last weeks finds two gold rings in a soccer field then got kicked out LOL it was my last weekend with the ctx3030 sold it yesterday just like the v3i better didn't think the 3030 lived up to the hipe and not really waterproof headphones not, connectors not ,leaks,just couldn't trust it it worked ok finding stuff but not more than others maybe the same….. i'm thinking of trying the xp deus just because i have a motorbike and it would be nice to be all compact ……i have the excalibur for water its great….. v3i for dirt its great… i just need something for rain days like two in san diego LOL i sold some guns just to get a few more detectors … gold bug 2 for real gold and a xp i think… oy cashed in the rings and earring got 180.00 three week ago cashed in gold from beach 532.00 so its been a good month…..
