Tony the buckle looks to me like a type of "slider" buckle , is it very sturdy in its construction ?? could you easily bend with your hands or is it very rigid and thick??

It is fairly rigid for it's thickness but it is thin, I could bend it without a great amount of force but it would have to be a deliberate action to do so.

Tony , I'm pretty confident its most likely a turn of the century to just post 1900 era slider buckle but for what exactly i'm not sure . It doesn't have the extremely old looking patina colors that are associated with civil war era items but then again your soil is pretty kind to most things you guys dig up out your way.
