    KS newbe says hi

Figured my first official post should be an introduction...so here it is. I purchased my first detector (Fisher F4) earlier this summer with the thought that it would be a great hobby for my 9 year old son and I. I caught the bug really quick and if it keeps up, I may need to seek some help! For my son, the hobby may not be quick enough...although he does seem to really enjoy himself when we go out.

Anyway, I really enjoy seeing everyone's finds. The thought of finding and holding something that hasn't seen the light of day for 200 years is mindblowing.

    Happy Hunting

Welcome Lane! Glad you have your son involved in the hobby too. My eight year old daughter loves to go metal detecting, but as you mentioned I have to pick a spot where there are lots of targets

I too love to unearth coins and other items that have been buried for so long. That's what I love about the hobby the most.

Everything your son sees dug up, he'll learn something about it... how, why, where, who... and, of course... when. thumbsup01
