Thread: Thank you AD for my 1'st year of detecting.

Thank you AD for my 1'st year of detecting.

    Well, 7 months anyways.

Not going to do a wrap up since there wasn't a whole lot to wrap. A nice layout photo will do since it's all been seen already.
Glad I was pointed to this site, and thanks to everyone for the support and reading some of my underwhelming reports. I'm learning a lot from you guys, and wish I had found detecting a long time ago. Amazing what gets pulled out of the ground here in CT.

Met some great people as well, and hope to meet more. Thank you very much Dan, Rob, Al, and Lee for the invites and helping the noob. Especially Dan and Lee. Going to work hard on permissions this year and pay ya'll back. Good luck and HH in 2015 everyone!

Brian , i would be very proud of that picture and those finds (especially for only 7 months being in this hobby) if they were mine ! you did very well and no doubt do even better this year , it was a pleasure to meet you and detect a couple of times , we'll definitely do some more in 2015.

As Dan stated, that's a photo to be proud of. As far as first years go we are probably tied for finds. Definitely we will be hunting together again in 2015 as I need to hear your "yell and dance" again.

I'm definitely very happy with my 1'st season guys. Especially towards the end. I should have replaced "underwhelming reports" with "clad filled reports". My bad, poorly worded. And no more clad pics anyways.

Tried laying my finds out in groups like you guys do, but it just didn't pop like laying it out in a collage. Taking pictures of an idiot holding a fish is much easier than getting the lighting right for coin and relic porn. Phew, so much to learn.

I looked for this post after you mentioned your "collage." They don't let me out of the relic section very much, I guess because I am one

I did a small silver hoot at that farm house in my town we dug. Wish I could go tomorrow, unfortunately the corporate monster calls. Thanks for the call Sunday too, but had snow removal duty for family.
My schedule has changed to a 4 day week. I'm off Saturday, Tuesday, and Wednesday now. And not afraid of the cold. I have plenty of ice fishing gear that would be prime for dirt fishing. Pop up 4-man shanty, portable heater, sled, etc. I'd love to do a winter woods hunt if I ever figure out how to find a site.

I thought you said I was the only one who hadn't done the silver dance (up until last time we got out). You are a crazy wanka (not literally) to get out in this cold. I wonder how the field is dig-able when the snow storm on Sat it was just starting to be frozen in the woods. Logs were hard to move, even kicking with steel toes trying to move them. Good Luck out there if you go today.
