Digger Al's First Large Cent, 1835

A buddy of mine got permission to hunt a house that he thought was built in the 1870s. Turns out the the owner wasn't sure when it was built, but he knew it was there in the 1850s.

Anyway, we weren't there more than ten minutes and Alec called us over. He just dug a very iffy deep 12-47 signal and and pulled his first ever Large Cent out of an 11" hole. It is also the oldest coin that he's ever dug.Talk about being excited.

After that we had high hopes for the yard. We hunted about another hour and a half and only found one wheat cent each and I dug a 1943 Canadian penny. Even so, today was a great hunt.

We probably only hunted 10% of the property and the home owner invited us back any time.
