    Found a Seated Dime today

I haven't been detecting for a couple of weeks and it felt good to get out for a few hours today. I wasn't even going to post my results because I had a fairly mediocre outing, but thankfully I had a hunt-saving find at the end of the day.

I tried three different parks today. I had been to the first one once before last year and had good results. Today I only found a 1946 Rosie there and a couple of wheat cents.

Again at the second park I found another 1946 Rosie and a couple of wheat cents. After these unremarkable results I was just going to go home, so I set my GPS for "Home" and began my return trip.

My route took me through a small town that I had never been to before, and I spied a nice looking little park right in the center of town. Feeling the need to redeem myself, I decided to give it a go. For the first couple of hours I got only wheat cents, but then as I was about to give up I got a nice 12-45 signal at 6" deep. When I saw a dark colored coin in my hole I thought it was a clad dime at first, but then I saw the silver edge. Finally, a silver from this park, and it was an 1889 Seated Dime! It is somewhat dark in color and has some old scratches on it, but it still has nice detail. I was very happy to get my first Seated Dime of the year.

Congratulations Tony. Is this your first seated of the year? Funny how both Rosies are the same date. Seems like that happens often in this hobby. I'm glad you were able to get some good detecting in. The weather was just amazing today. I had yard work and honey-dos so no MDing for me. Best wishes and HH, Dave.
