One off the bucket list on Fathers Day

I was doing a little detecting on Fathers Day in the little town where I live and I was working a row of trees about 5' in from the edge of the curb. Got a 9-40 signal and I thought it was going to be a bottle cap. Sure glad I dug this one!Name: IMG_0209.jpg

Great find. The "WE" on the motto is a major part of the grading process for this coin. Sure does beat a bottle cap.....

Congrats on your first Two Cent Piece! That one still had incredible detail too!

It looks like some more dirt might come off of it, if you were so inclined. I cleaned both of mine with a toothpick and some liquid laundry detergent. Those Two Cent Pieces were struck on high quality planchets and they hold up well.

    Lifetime totals:
10 Large Cents, 415 Indian Heads, 2 Two Cent Pieces, 1 Capped Bust Half Dime, 1 Seated Half Dime, 10 Shield Nickels, 68 V Nickels, 124 Buffalo Nickels, 31 War Nickels, 16 Seated Dimes, 131 Barber Dimes, 405 Mercury Dimes, 249 Rosies, 4 Seated Quarters, 18 Barber Quarters, 20 Standing Liberty Quarters, 89 Silver Washingtons, 1 Seated Half, 3 Barber Halves, 16 Walking Liberty Halves

That is the deepest color I've seen on one of those! I kinda hope you nicked the top of the reverse as it might mean the rest of the coin isn't that fragile. It doesn't look fragile...it looks like it will be beautiful!!
