    July Secretary Report

Taking advantage of a moderating temperature and a nice breeze Diane and I went out and did a door knock. He stopped at an old house that I have been eyeing for a while, we had been detecting in an adjacent field all winter and turning up some great finds. The lady that answered the door was very nice and gave us permission to detect and stated that she had seen us detecting and thought it was an interesting hobby! Diane made the first find a wheat cent and followed that up with a nice flat button. She later found a toy locomotive and a curious Batman Returns token.

Looking up on the internet it seems this token is a desirable collectors piece for Batman collectors!

My finds included a toy airplane, hem weight and two pieces of a pocket watch case that were 10” deep!

My best find of the day was this I got a good signal on the CTX a solid 12-43 at 4” and was very pleased to see a Barber Dime in the hole. This 1914 has razor sharp detail and full Liberty!

Nice bunch of finds but I'm thinking E Gothamus Unum is the coolest find!
Oldest find: 5,000 year old copper spearhead
Oldest coin: 1699 William III halfpenny
Purdiest coin: 1832 Capped Bust quarter
Coolest find: USA button with blue threads still on shank

That barber looks sweet. Oh do I hate when those toy cars sound so nice in the ground. It's even harder to distinguish the size from a coin while it is in the ground.
