    civil war cavalry button

    got out with Todd Hiltz saturday to a trashy cellar hole.was able to pluck out a nice Civil War (Scovill's Back Mark) Cavalry button though.dig holes all over this site when we arrived.a sense of satisfaction knowing you found a piece of history someone else missed

    Nice Cav Button Dave! From what I understand (from the Official regulations) only Officers were issued buttons with the branch of service, while the enlisted just got the General Service ones.

    Lol. All the other items are not worth a mention, just a show in the a pic? Nice score on that cavalry button. It's in good shape. Was this a new place to you, or just somewhere that is like a back-up and close to hit anytime? Just curious due to your write up. Since the dig holes and the fact you scored a few items.
