    950 Platinum and 18K Gold today !!! Ring #64 is a Great one !!!

The day started with my alarm going off at 5:45 am to go hunting !!! I had picked out two locations , one was a school and the other a park I had never hunted before . The school field had given up silver coins years ago , today nothing but clad . After a good hour I decided to move on to the park . This park is in an area that dates to the 1940's so I was hoping for some old silver . After a good 30 minutes all I had was more clad , but then it happened . Right in the middle of the soccer field I got a sweet sounding +28 at 3 inches . When I pulled back the plug there it was , my first ever in 18 plus years of hunting a platinum ring !!!! I have been hoping to find one for a long time . My hunting buddy Kevin just found his third last week . This one weighs 11 grams and is 950 PT / 750 18k GOLD on the edge of the ring ! This one is a keeper . Total clad for 2 hours was $8.63 .

Fantastic find! The beauty of finding gold is you're never really expecting it. The better detectorists can pretty much guess they've got silver, an IH etc quite often. Gold...well...that's another story. Hopefully your good fortune will continue.
