    I Got a Gold Star!

I found this this gold colored star in the yard of the turn of the century house where I found the 1800's dimes and IH's a while back. I don't have a pic of the back but it looks like it was a pin back, with the pin going horizontal. It's the size of a penny. I can't tell what the three items inside the star represent.

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Could the items on the star be chess pieces?
