Have some "use it or lose" days of vacation to take so I took today and tomorrow off. Definitely went out with the idea of trying to find some tougher signals in a pretty well hunted Park. Went to a small town called Merton the home of the Land 'O lakes baseball League. Big placard at the Park entrance states Merton started the League in 1922. Love the different history you find at the Parks I hunt. First two good signals were backwards. Dug a 12-40 expecting to find an old wheat and got my 1st Merc of the day and later dug a really nice 12-46/47 that turned out to be a wheat. You just never know. Another hour or so produced 1 more Merc and a smoothie Buffalo. Decided to try one more heavily hunted park and glad I did. Managed to find a couple more Mercs and 7 Wheaties. Way more good signals than I thought were left. The fall season definitely gets those deeper coins to pop nice in the headphones. All in all a great day away from work. Tomorrow I hope will be the same. Keep swinging. Wisconsin Digger
