    Bucknuts 2015 year in review...

2015 was simply an amazing detecting year for me! I am very thankful for all of the treasures that I dug up. I had my best year in every category that I keep record of with the exception of Indians and clad. What I find amazing also is that 85 to 90% of my finds were from public areas. In 2015 I found 39 coins from the 1800's...a personal best for me!

Below are my jewelry finds. Not too many this year but the top two rings are gold class rings...my first two ever!

Below are my coppers for the year. The 1843 LC and the 1866 2 cent are in awesome shape...they were found across the street from each other in a nearby town on private property.

Below are my Canadian LCs for the year. I had never found one before and this year and I find 11...go figure! The oldest was an 1842 Half Penny. Also got an 1850 Half Penny.

Below are my half dimes/5 cent silvers for the year. Again I had never found one in the past and this year I find 4 of them! If you have never found one of these I hope that some day you do...they are truly a little pc of history in my opinion!

Here are my Half dollars for the year. Of course the 1812 Half Dollar is a once in a life time find! Big old history! Still in shock about that one!

Below are my old nickels from 2015. I got the lead impression of a 1906 V back in April in a farm field. Interestingly enough it rang up as a nickel.

Here are my better Indians from 2015. I found 34 total but many are toasty. The highlight indian for me was the 1865 in the center of the picture! I'm still pretty stoked about finding that one!

Here are my Barbers and Canadian Quarters from 2015. The 1913 barber dime is one of the best condition silver coins I have ever found. The oldest is a sweet 1874 H Queen Victoria Canadian Quarter.

And here are all of my silvers from 2015...

Size: 75.8 KB

    2015 Season Totals:
    Clad: $132.97
    Indians: 34
    Wheaties: 677
    Silver: 141
    Silver Jewelry: 7
    Gold Jewelry: 2

So I can only hope that 2016 is half as productive as 2015 was for me. I am looking forward to bringing my boys with me more and more as they get older and can hunt more than just 1 hour without wanting to go back home. Another 2015 highlight was my oldest boy finding his oldest coin...an 1893 Indian. And my youngest boy found his first silver...a 1947 Rosie dime.

Thanks for looking and Happy hunting!

Great looking pile of keepers. It was definitely a banner year yourself. Your best treasure has to be taking the boys detecting with you.

It will take one heck of a detectorist to beat your year.
