Hi from San Francisco Bay Area

I never thought I would be THAT guy walking around with a metal detector, but I am . . . last month I got a Bounty Hunter Quick Silver and have already tested it out and had a blast. I also got a pin pointer and a Lesche shovel (I actually needed to replace a spade so why not – it can work double duty!). That is a nice spade! Have a few other hobbies, but photography is my primary hobby . . . for now I learned of a local club near me and so I am going to see what they are about. I am having a blast reading about the hobby and cannot wait to get out again.

Hello, and welcome from Washington state. This is a good site from which to learn. Feel free to ask any questions. I'm glad you found a club nearby. Good luck and happy hunting!

Welcome to the forum. I have heard that there are good areas in San Francisco Parks, but make sure it is still legal to detect! Looking forward to some fantastic photos of your finds!

Thank you so much for the kind welcome and advice. YES, Dan, those are the very reasons I want to check out the club. And the meeting place is walking distance from my house!!!
It will be a while before I try SF - I have a feeling there will be forms, fee's, and a license (at a minimum) HAHAHAHA to hunt around there. Seriously, I am going to try my neighborhood parks first and then poke around.
Just waiting for a little break in the rain to get out there. Thanks again for the warm welcome!

Not a treasure map mind you (haha), but a map of the region and there like you said tons of places (esp parks) I have never even heard of. Thank you much.
