Red face OMG! What a first silver for 2016!!!

Hi folks. I haven't posted anything since last summer. I only found two silvers for all of 2015. Not the best year for sure.

But I got out yesterday afternoon after getting my oil changed. First hunt for me this year. So I stopped by a spot I'd only been to once before. Found a Merc there back in 2012. This time I went to the opposite end of the pond that's there and hit a fairly flat wooded area. I wasn't there for more than 15 minutes when I hit a 98, 99 on my Teknetics Omega! I thought it must be a bottle cap. Then I see the large coin pop out of the dirt. What? Looks like a dirty clad Kennedy at best. A closer look reveals a Franklin half!! Woo hoo!! A first for me.

A few feet away I get another super hit. A solid 90 to 92. Out comes another coin. This time a silver Washington! Now I've found two silvers in one hunt. Now I'm super excited. The rest of the hunt yielded 6 Wheat pennies and the usual trash plus several Matchbox cars, some look like they were from the 50's.

So this hunt has given me new enthusiasm for future hunts. Thanks for looking.

Congrats on that Franklin! I seem to recall posts of maybe 2 or 3 found all of last year including mine. They are not easy to come by! Even the silver quarters are becoming quite scarce.

Great one two nab to get you started for the year! Never found a Franklin Half before, a relatively uncommon find.
