    Old Copper

Today's after work hunt was productive. I went yesterday too but only dug shells. The obverse of the copper looks like Hibernias I've dug but the reverse is new to me. It has a crown and maybe grapes in the center.
The wheat is 1919, and another town dog tag. Thanks for looking!

    Thanks, Dan.
This rang up at 75, which is low for a copper. That counterfeit capped half I found last week rang up at 77. Other coppers are 85 to 91. It is the same size as my 1723 Hibernia...smaller than most coppers.

yep, 'tis a Rosa! The two I have found both have that blistered appearance as well. All dug Rosa's look like that due to a flaw in the manufacturing process. Something to do with microscopic gas bubbles forming due to heating of the planchet. Nice find !

Can't read a date Drew, but based on style my Twopence is 1723. I can barely get 1722 off of my onepence. I can't tell from the pic what denomination yours is. If it's bigger than a LC it's a twopence.

Drew, since you have a crowned Tudor rose, I would say it is the 1723 one pence. Nice find!
