    First buffalo!

Found my first buffalo nickel today. I believe it is a 1916 but it is very worn and hard to make out. It was only at about 2 inches deep and rang a very solid 19 on the VDI scale. Im still without a camera for a while so i'll have to post some pics later. The hobby has been getting a lot more fun lately as im starting to finally make some headway learning my machine and picking some good spots to hunt. Thanks for all your help and best wishes!

Sweet... That's an early Buffalo. I like them all, but I get a little disappointed when I see 1935 all the time lol Any in the teens and twenties with a date, are great finds. If you have a scanner, it works better than a camera sometimes.

The hobby does seem to get more fun when you're finding old coins, doesn't it? Congrats.

That would be cruel and unusual punishment lol The only thing worse than seeing the 1935 date on a Buffalo is to see Jefferson's head rofl At least the War Nickels are cool, I'd take them any day.
