Never saw a button with a two piece shank. Interesting. Nice find tho. Any plans to clean it up?

That's what I was thinking. Never seen a button with two shanks.
I found 2 POD buttons in the same yard one time. Under the old clothes line. Each were backmarked by different makers. Although at a quick glance they looked the same, but have some subtle differences.
I'm imagining years of uniforms hung from the clothes line, a button gets snagged on the line as the garment is taken down, and pops the stitch .... and there it lays waiting....
