Back to the 8 Reale field

March 27, 2016 – I got out for a quick two hour hunt before Easter dinner at the field where I found the 8 Reale last weekend. Spent the morning gridding a small area and came up with 4 more buttons, KGII 17?0, 1853 dime, ball and spoon handle. I also found a deer shed.

Nice to pull another silver from that field. I have yet to spot a deer shed even tho I have a family that live in the woods somewhere behind my house. I cant tell you how many times Ive seen deer scat in the woods.. just never an antler.

I couldn't think of the name of that style button. Thanks! It's my first blowhole and I didn't realize how old they are.

Thanks Dan! I think it was a small camp. I'm hoping to get a full day at it next week.

Thanks! The dime didn't fit the time period of the other finds, but I'll take it!

Excellent Brian! Definitely more gridding in your future there. Nice early pieces and the button looks quite old.
