I worked another section of the same park I hit on Wednesday, slowly working a grid in the hopes of digging up a few more silver dimes. But what a surprise I had! I dug mostly large silver, and nice ones too!
The first surprise find was a 1915 Republic of Cuba 40 cent silver coin. It's almost the size of a US half dollar, and heavy too. When I first saw the edge sticking out of the soil I thought that I had found a half dollar. I was not disappointed with what it ended up being though.
The second surprise was a 1946 Walking Liberty Half dollar, the second one this week from that park.
The third surprise, and a big one, was digging up a 1921 Standing Liberty quarter! I can make out the last two digits.
Then came a 1902 Barber quarter.
I also found a 1951-S Washington quarter and a 1957 Roosevelt dime. Here is the loot.
This one has me stumped. The words read The Fayo and Mascot. Any ideas?
Have a great weekend everyone!
