    Has anyone used these?

So, I am looking to buy a new Metal Detector and found some I read about and liked. Has anyone had any of these? Pros and Cons. I will mostly be Metal Detecting around in Forest Areas, and near Rivers. I will also want to do some more Detecting in many other types of Terrains though and just want to strictly be using one Metal Detector, so if you can recommend out of these which you think is best that will help a lot!

Sorry there is a lot I seemed interested in lol here they are ^^ ps: Underwater capabilities does seem like a +

Hello MissPrecious, looks like you have an allstar lineup there. I've not personally used any of them but there are people here who have. Best of luck with your choice and welcome to the group!

Decisions...decisions...... all good machines, all have their pros and cons. I use a Deus. It is easily programmed to suit many different conditions and terrains. Good luck!

I am a Minelab fan, and I absolutely love my E-Trac. If anything ever happened to my E-Trac I would buy another E-trac.

However, I do not detect underwater.

I have heard great things about the Minelab CTX 3030, Excalibur II and the XP Deus.

I can't imagine that you would need a Pulse Induction (PI) machine for the type of detecting that you're going to be doing.

Best of luck and welcome to the forum!

Hello and welcome to the forum!
Tou don't need the ground penetrating radar unless you are looking for a mailbox size item several feet down. A PI machine is deep, but can't tell you if it's a nail, coin, or whatever.
Not many detectors listed are any good for water use. The Excalibur is made specifically for dive use. The Deus is a good machine from what I hear, but you need a kit for water use. A machine not listed you may like is the Garrett ATPro. It's relatively inexpensive, can be used in water, easy to use, and people have had good finds using it. I personally use the CTX 3030. It's compliacted to learn and expensive to buy, but the best of both worlds for water and land detecting in my opinion. It has all the bells and whistles, is fully programmable, gives the user tons of information of the target, and is rated for use to 10 feet of water. (Though I have seen video of modified units used at over 60 feet)
There are tons of things to consider when choosing a machine including price, type of use, and what you are searching for. One example is the Minelab GPX series which is made for hunting gold nuggets, whilet the CTX is designed to search for coins and relics.
    Equipment:
Minelab: CTX 3030, GPX 4800, X-Terra 705. Whites TDI SL.

    2024: Silver 1, Gold 0
Best finds: 28 silver dime spill, 1800s Dutch customs seal.
Oldest/best coins: Late 1700's Chinese Cash Coin, 1837 Upper Canada large cent, 1877 Seated Dime
Oldest Relic find: 1800 Sailors Luck token
