Hope so. The place is from the mid-1700s. And it's public land. Belongs to the Army Corps of Engineers. The sign as you enter the place states that metal detecting is permitted, but if you find anything over a 25 dollar value, you must turn it in. Probably won't find anything worth much, but ya never know.
