The new park has the old!

    Hi all,
Stopped back at the new park that was built on an an old farm for about an hour and a half hunt. I followed the old driveway Bach towards the river to where it opened up to a small grassy area. I didn't get far before I got a bouncy 12-30/32 at about 8 inches. First thing I see is a Briggs and Stratton key. Going in to recheck the hole I spotted a brown coin. Picked it up and knocked the dirt off and realized I had a 1901 V Nickel! Scanned the hole again and found a matching Briggs key. Rechecking, and got another beep. This time I pulled a buffalo! (1915 or 16) Check once more and find a 1919 wheatie which rounded out the spill- cool beans! The grassy area gave up several more wheats before heading back towards the car. Swinging through the park headed home, I got a nice deep 12-38. I was expecting another wheat, but was surprised but a cast copper harness buckle. Cleaning it a bit I found it was dated 1870! That's the oldest one so far for me. Great way to finish out the morning!

    Thanks guys!
A bit more research and I stumbled on a real estate listing of the house next to where I was hunting and found it started as a farm house ( now turned high dollar luxury estate) that was built in 1865. So there really is good history in the area.
