Today I got out for a few hours of detecting. I decided to search one of the older schools. I know it's been hunted a lot, but I remained hopefull. My first target was a 1938 wheatie. I was hoping this was a good sign. A couple hours later I pulled the second wheatie. Then, I finally saw the glint of silver. First I thought Finally, a silver dime, then I saw how small it was and thought somebody had cut a dime in half. Turned out to be a very tiny St. Cristopher medal.
I onloy got a small section covered today. The two wheaties (both at about 5-6 inches) leaves me hopeful that there is still more silver to be pulled from that site. Of course, I still need to go finish working that park I've been working my way across.
