    Hello from New Jersey!

    Hi everyone,

I live in South Jersey and I am new to the hobby. I just bought an AT Pro and I plan to detect at the beach to get started. I have more of an interest in finding old coins, anyone have suggestions on where to focus?

Thanks and I look forward to getting to know everyone.

    Ken

Hello Ken and welcome from Wisconsin!
The best I can recommend is to start looking in old parks or picnic groves. Old homes and farm fields can be great places too. Do some research of old maps to see where some of these old sites may be located. There are literally countless resources on the Web.
    Good luck and happy hunting!

Hi Ken. Welcome! I too am from NJ. A few wands in hand including tje AT Pro. I spend my 6 months in the Florida Keys and 6 months in Joisey @ Toms River. Lots of cool stuff in NJ. Would love hunt with you in the future. Places to look? Anywhere and everywhere. I am always surprised at where I find stuff including old coins. Ya never know. It's great to go to the beach and get used to your machine and settings before a junky park.

Spent a couple of hours with my new AT Pro today. Really enjoyed the day and learning which signals I should dig and which ones I shouldn't. Found a whopping 12 cents! lol The oldest coin being a 1970 nickel.
