I had a much anticipated couple hour hunt today in a field where they finally cut the beans this week. I didn't find any coins or anything really great, but this was my first trip here and it was a beautiful day!

Couple goodies anyway. Seems they are harvesting late this year. Had about the same such items in the bean field I just hunted. Hope the weather holds a while yet.

Nice buckle. It has an interesting shape. I wonder what that piece is that looks like a slug. One of those came up in a field I was at recently and it looked like an oil burner jet and it's like wth is it doing here?

Strategy depends on the site and the available research resources. This particular site had an 1870's house and that area is waist high grass. In this case I think there was a 1840-50's home site somewhere in the field but did not find it.Originally Posted by del

Research is key and will dictate just where you lower your coil. I hope you can get into that high grass area .
