Gold today during my lunch break!

Today I hit a nearby park that I have found lots of great coins in over the last few years. There are not many high tones left so I often focus on the nickel tones. I came across a perfect nickel signal (12-13) about 5 inches deep so I was optimistic that this one was not going to be a pull tab. To my surprise I dug a small 10k pendant of some sort. It is smaller than a dime and looks like there was a pin on the back so maybe this was a pin?

It pays to dig those nickel signals, for me I get a gold item that I thought was a nickel once every other year. Always a nice surprise!

    Thanks for looking - Jared

    Awesome find!

I think "Ionic Chapter" has something to do with the Freemasons or the Royal Arch Masons. I'm not sure what "DM" stands for.

    Congrats on the gold!

Nice find, Buck. Great to find gold and even better when its unique like that. I'd say its a pendant too, vs a pin missing the point. Just the connecting loop is what opened up and is no longer on the pendant loop.
Future goals: Capped bust coin, Flowing hair LC, Classic head LC, VT copper, MA copper, Pistareen, Two-cent pc, SLQ, GW inaugural button, Excelsior button, Civil war token, and a gold ring.
