My Last Couple of Hunts With Daddy Digger / Big Silver

A couple of weeks ago, I got together with Dave for about a four hour hunt. That day I dug a 1900 & 1903 Indian, one Rosie and a few wheats.

Yesterday, we got together and I dug a couple of firsts for the year.
My first coin was an 1896 Barber Quarter. Then I dug a super toasted Indian, all I can see is the 18xx. (Hey, it counts).
Things slowed down for me for a while, but at the last house I scored big time, a 1945 Walking Liberty half Dollar.
That turned a good day into a great day!!
Before we left I dug a 1964 rosie and a few wheats.

Good finds Don. I always enjoy our detecting time together. That's an odd inscription inside the indian head pin. Looks like ROUND OAK FOLKS? Any ideas what it means? Bets wishes and HH, Dave.

Don, I solved the mystery of your Indian Head that rang up like an Indian Head Cent! The name of the Indian is Chief Doh-Wah-Jack and he was the advertising logo for the Round Oak Stove Company based out of Dowagiac, Mich. (pronounced doh-wah-jack). The Chief was introduced in about 1900 and went on all their advertising and advertising merchandise. The company barely survived the depression and was out of business by 1945. Perhaps this was part of a tie tack worn by a salesmen.
