    Hunt for the Old Camp

My goal this year was to do a better job researching metal detecting sites...so while studying some of my new history books I learned about an old camp site that was used as far back as the 1880's. I found out this camp is on public property owned by the city and was given the ok to metal detect it! Here are some of the pictures from my reference materials.

These pics got me going...I kept saying I NEED TO GO THERE!
I did a little recon on the place a few weeks ago and found a Merc and a few wheats but was not in right spot...lots of new trash and stuff from the 40's & 50's so on Sunday I enlisted the help of my nephew to cover more ground. I think we found it!!!
