    New permission-1855/1888 lighthouse.

    How all,
Went out touring with the woman today and decided to go see the old lighthouse and take the tour since they were open today. The first lighthouse was built in 1855, but they soon realized it was too close to the eroding bluff edge. So a new lighthouse was built next door in 1888.

While there got to chatting with the curator snd got permission to detect the property! Anything site related I'll turn over to them for their museum display. I also have a few historic items they would like to display on loan. Cool!

I didn't get to detect first real long and I wasn't prepared for a big hunt. But I always throw my detector snd a minimum of stuff jn the trunk whenever I go anywhere. But I did make a few finds including a bottle neck, an old rivet or button (no pic) and a lead piece that looks like a lead seal that had an edge hammered.

It appears someone else was detecting there recently by the fresh plugs, but they missed that lead piece right in the middle of a plug that they replaced
The older site was scanned a few years ago with ground penetrating radar and they found a debris field down the hill. Apparently they just pushed over the bluff when razing it. Go figure! But maybe there may be a log of stuff to find, just going to be a real challenge.

Thanks all! Now waiting to have the time to hunt and better ground conditions. Been raining like crazy lately, and the ground is too sloppy to dig.
