    DB LC, atomic button, graphite

Hiked out to one of my favorite sites early Sunday morning. Weather was great. Pickings are slim at this site but I managed to sniff out a few goodies from the iron.

I think a colonial atomic scientist wore this button

Also sniffed out what I think is a 1805 Draped Bust largie. But I think I will wait for King Eagle Eye Two-Cent to confirm that.

I had high hopes for this copper based on the condition of the reverse. The obverse has good detail but the patina was painfully fragile. I was fortunate to save enough to highlight the date though. For you copper cleaners.... any use of water or peroxide or olive oil would have flushed all the patina off. This one was tooth pick only.

Also managed a brass knob, mule shoe and graphite. That graphite always sounds good under the coil.

Plenty of mosquitoes but no ticks.

Nice button ! looks to have some gilt left under the green and the draped bust is an attractive coin !!

Outstanding colonial button and a beautiful Draped Bust Large Cent! No confirmation needed on that! Perfectly clear date and wonderful detail left on it!

I had no idea that graphite would sound off under a metal detector. You learn something every day.

    Congrats on the terrific finds!
