Found this in a field where I have found horse shoes , Large cents from early 1800 and a Spanish Real from 1724. Any idea what this could be. It does have a little brass areas on it where i must have hit the target. Not solid brass but a light weight metal.

It's part of a two-piece buckle! Maybe 1840s to 1860s?
