Well ain't this a kick in the pants.

I just got home from a year in Iraq 6 months ago. I just found out that we are supposed to deploy again in early 2011. So that gives me about a year to get in all the detecting I can get. I've also got one year to get a bunch of brand new privates trained up for combat.

Oh well, at least the money's good.

Keep your head down and your powder dry. My son-inlaw(full time Arkansas NG) has been to the big sandbox twice. 1st deployment his biggest complaint was I am tired of being shot at!. Second deployment it was I am tired of being bored to death.
Hope your 2nd deployment is similar to my son-in-law's!

Thank you all for your thoughts. I'm not nervous about this one like I was the first. I know what I'm walking into this time. I'll keep everyone up on any updates I get.

I wonder if you can request the job of MDing on roads? (even tho' the military machines don't have Tone ID... well, they didn't have it 40 years ago, anyway)
That's what I did between Kontum & Dakto in '68-'69 (didn't find any cool coins or relics, but I did save a lot of tanks and APC's!).
My thoughts are with you, bro.
