    1811-1813 1st Regiment of Artillerists and a KG I

Cut out of work early today and had a 3 hour hunt. Lots of buttons including a 1811-1813 1st Regiment of Artillerists and a King George I (pretty sure now) coin. My pet peeve is not being able to pull a date off a coin lol.

beautiful scripted "LA" light artillery button these were used from 1808 to about 1821 . it's a great find Ken. I sympathize with finding dateless coins , I went through a long stint of not finding one myself. if it's any conselation 1724 is probably the most common year for that type. congrats again .

Thanks Dan. My oldest dated coin is 1722 and this one had a shot at beating it if I only could have found a date lol.

Too bad it's not a dump issue as you wouldn't need a visible date to beat 1722. But with that said, who cares, it's just a bonus to that sweet button! I like when a hunt turns up different type of keepers like that. About 10 days ago I dug a rare local token, early military button, and old British silver coin... all very different finds but made for a great day!
