So today the ground froze cancelling my hunt, and ending my year, so it's time to wrap things up and move on to other stuff.
This is my result for 2017, but should add 90% was dug this Fall, and it sure was a crazy great detecting season. I crossed off 4 finds that I've had on my want list for about 15 years, and 3 came in back to back hunts from the same field!That was about as epic as it gets for my digging, and truly made for a very fun year. My friend and I hunted twice a week for the first month but given the success we were having switched to three times a week, and were able to maintain the same success. I didn't strike out a single time, and the only thing that was along the line of a bad hunt is when I only found great finds and my friend just killed it.
So needless to say I'm sad to see it end as it was the best Fall we each had in 17 years of hunting together, but being so satisfied with it all should help me get through until Spring.
