#6 Musket Ball Hill--XP Deus gets me 1765 Silver!!!!!!!!

    Hey Diggers,
Yes, you read it right. I have switched from the e-trac to the XP Deus. The e-trac is a great machine but not for hunting in Europe. The Deus has amazed me with it's capabilities for tiny signals.

Tonight I got my oldest silver and oldest coin ever! A 1 Kreuzer dated 1765. In the 1700's Germany was not yet a country. Rather a confederation of states. This coin is from the free state of Frankfurt. It rang up like a tiny button. I knew it was a silver coin as soon as I saw it (even though it was black). Here's some pics. HH, Dave.

The best part about finding old stuff in the ground is researching the history that surrounds it. Great find!

I did! EVERYONE uses them over here. There must be a reason for it. The e-trac is great for sniffing out American coins and especially silver but it's not really set up for what you can find over here. Plus, the deus is so light and easy to maneuver around trees and limbs. It took me about 3 days using it to get the hang of the signals and understanding its "language."

Lovely coin! I feel certain that it won't be your oldest silver for very long. There are Romans over there.
