Got out with Don for a new (old) town and got into the third yard with not even wheat pennies showing up. Hardly any digable targets and was close to giving up but finally had a questionable maybe tone. Sometimes you just don’t dig these. But the depth was good, possibly 8 inches, jumping from penny to half with a little sqeak to it. Anyway after getting through the roots I saw a thin silver disc. 1861 S seated dime!My oldest US!
This yard was definitely hit but got one. Was so happy I forgot to dig the nickel signal which was in the same spot. So left it to Don to sweep up!
