    Interesting 1700's relic

    Hey diggers,
I was detecting a plowed field and got a screamer signal. Turned out to be a late 1700's apothecary weight. This particular type is called nested cups because each one sits inside the next. What is so neat about this one is it has 9 different date stamps where it was certified as being accurate (year after year). I am trying to locate a guide to German date marks of the 18th century so I can determine exactly what years it was used. Here's a pic of a complete set to give you an idea of what they look like. Thanks for looking and happy digging! Dave.
