A Fun Day At Some 1830s Sites

I met up with Digger Don and Noah yesterday to hit the "Button Field" and the "1833 Cabin Site". The weather man said it was going to rain but he was wrong. We enjoyed decent weather all day although it was a brisk 28 degrees when we started detecting with a 20 mph wind.

At the Button Field I found an 1848 Large Cent, dateless Shield Nickel, a couple small cuff buttons, and an 1820 Militia Button.

At the 1830s Cabin Site I found a nice flat button with some gilt still on it, my first ever ball button, and my first ever open-ended thimble.

The 1815-1825 militia button isn't in great shape but I was sure happy to get it! I didn't even know what it was until Don told me.

Thanks to Don and Tim for sharing these super old sites with me! It was a really fun day.
