Silver coins

I have been blessed, in my 50 years of detecting to find just about every denomination of US minted silver coins.All of the coins seen in the following pictures were found by me either in Maryland or Georgia. One exception is the twenty cent piece that was found by one of my brothers, most likely in Maryland or northern Virginia.
I think I have a representation of all the silver coin denominations and, while not shown, I also have variations of some of them. I have lined these up by coin size from the smallest to the largest.
If I have missed a silver denomination please let me know.

Great array of coins. Never found a 3 cent nickel coin, the none in the picture held up nicely. No 20 cent coin either. WD

Nice display. I've never heard of anyone finding a twenty-cent piece before!

A three-cent nickel isn't really a silver coin, they are 75% copper and 25% nickel, the same composition as our modern 5 cent nickels. They are seldom found detecting because they ring up really low like foil. I know that Ill Digger has found one. Most of the time they come out of the ground a reddish brown color and corroded.

I think you have all of the US silver denominations there!

I did not know that. Since it is not silver I will remove it from this display. It will go in one with other non silver US coins.

Great assortment of finds! But to set the record straight, the trime IS silver and belongs in the line-up. A 3 cent nickel is different and is not silver.

I know the trime is silver and it will remain. If I get time this weekend I will look for different designs of these coins. I know there is only one style trime and The twenty cent piece would have different mint marks. But, having a twenty cent piece is pretty rare from what I have been told.

I've been away from AD for a minute,, just catching up a little bit. But what an awesome display! That seems like it would be the ultimate detectorists goal,,,, to dig one of every silver US coil. Thanks for sharing!

Glad to see this post pop back up today. There is one denomination, if it could be considered a separate denomination from the Nickle is the half dime. Would love to see a 1792 half disme in the line-up!
