Medieval Sickle Blades

Hello Diggers,
I was lucky enough to find 2 sickle blades from the medieval period. These could date anywhere from the 1200s to the 1500s. It's difficult to date them beyond broad time eras. After cleaning and conserving them, I was pleased to find they both had touch marks from the blacksmith who made them. One is a flower design which the blacksmith punched 5 times (quite interesting) and the other appears to be three circles. I am very happy to add them to my collection. What were these sickle blades used for, Dave? Skinning an animal? Or were they used on wood?

They are used to harvest grain or grasses. Grab a few stalks in your left hand, cut with the right hand.
