Park gives up my first silver

Went to a local park first thing this morning after I got off work. Decided to head for a remote wooded area in the park. First hit was a beat up wheat cent, then a couple more wheats, a button and then the 45 merc. It was showing less than an inch so I wasn't expecting anything other than a recently dropped clad dime. Used my foot to move the leaves out of the way and it was sitting right on top.

That merc is in really nice shape. Congrats!

Now, since that thing was a surface find, you gotta grid that area! You might have a piece of park nobody has bothered to hunt so far.

Nice that you first silver was a Mercury (Winged Liberty). A very beautiful designed coin. I agree, maybe that part of the park was missed by others. Hit it hard. Nice button too. Kind of a military theme.

Congrats!! That is a beautiful merc. Now you are going to get addicted to that silver shine

I agree -- if that coin was shallow, hit that place hard!

The God of Speed dime was actually designed with the head of the Liberty statue. Kewl, huh?
That button REALLY caught my eye, tho'... right from the git-go. Thought it was a coin at first glance... then I seen the shadow.
Love to know what that came off of, tho'. That's one nice button! thumbsup01
